Dependents of Armed Forces Personnel Killed / Armed Forces Personnel Disabled in Wars / War like operations are provided with the following facilities :

From State Government

 

Facilities to the soldiers of Karnataka who die / get disabled during war /war like operations:-

 

1.       Ex- Gratia of Rs.25 lakhs is given to the war widows from Hon’ble Chief minister’s Relief Fund since Feb 2016.

2.      Ex-Gratia grant of Rs. 5,00,000/- to fully disabled soldiers & NOKs of soldiers killed in action and Rs. 1,00,000 to wounded / missing soldiers

3.      2 acres of wet or 4 acres of rain fed or 8 acres of dry land are given to the families of serving personnel killed in action. If land is not available for allotment, a cash grant of Rs. 10,00,000/- is admissible

4.      Free built house or Cash in lieu of free built house for battle casualty Officers/JCOs Rs. 6 lakhs and ORs Rs. 4.5 lakhs.

5.         Reservation of seats in professional institutes.

6.         Priority in Telephone Connection. No installation fees, 50% concession in Rental   Charges.

7.         Allotment of oil product agencies under the 8% defence quota.

8.         Full re-imbursement of tuition fees, transportation charges and hostel charges less mess charges.  Re-imbursement of the cost of books/stationery @ Rs. 1000/- p.a, cost of uniform where compulsory up to Rs. 1700/- during the first year and Rs. 700/- for the subsequent years, and cost of clothing @ Rs. 500/- for the first year and Rs. 300/- for the subsequent years.  The above educational concessions will be up to and inclusive of the first degree course.

10.       Disability Elements.   Revised rates for 100 % disability are given below  Where the disability of a pensioner is less than 100%, the amount shall be proportionately reduced as per the degree of disability accepted and for the period notified in PPO :-

  1. Ex-Gratia grant of Rs.5,00,000/- to widows/Dependents/NOKs of soldiers killed in action and  to the battle casualty with more than 51% disability and Rs.1,00,000/- to the injured.

            (Government order No OE 10 KA.SY.SE 2014 dated 16 Feb 2014. This grant is applicable since 1999, has been revised with effect from Feb 2015.)
